Victoria Maloch, 2014-15 National FFA secretary, encourages FFA members to join the alumni association.
INDIANAPOLIS – The National FFA Alumni Association supports, motivates and mentors FFA members across the country. At the 90th National FFA Convention & Expo, alumni members volunteered throughout the event while being recognized for their efforts across the organization.
The alumni association has special meaning to Victoria Maloch of Arkansas, the 2014-15 National FFA secretary. “My ag teacher in high school was the state FFA Alumni president of Arkansas. I didn’t understand the value of the alumni association until I traveled as a state officer and saw chapters that didn’t have that support.”
With the start of a new job, Maloch has the opportunity to be a part of FFA Alumni. “I’m moving to Washington, D.C., and am excited to get involved with the alumni. Being able to connect with such an influential group in Washington, D.C., that’s involved in everything from ag policy to advocacy on and off the hill is something I am looking forward to.”
Maloch wants FFA members to know there are opportunities for alumni members of all ages. “Don’t feel like if there are not a lot of folks your age, you shouldn’t be there or be participating and helping. Young alumni members are our biggest need right now.”
Friday was National FFA Alumni Day at the convention and expo. Members could visit Alumni Central and the alumni booth in the expo and attend the annual meeting and reception.
