Wednesday morning was big for FFA members in the nation’s capitol thanks to a new agreement reached between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National FFA Organization.

The partnership – a Memorandum of Understanding announced in the beautiful atrium of the USDA’s Jamie L. Whitten Federal Building along the National Mall – featured FFA members from across the nation that were attending the annual State Presidents’ Conference, Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue and FFA CEO Mark Poeschl.

Under the newly signed MOU, USDA and FFA will collaborate on both short and long term initiatives to motivate and prepare young people, connect them with opportunities in agriculture, food, and natural resources systems, and build appreciation for the reach and importance of agriculture. It’s a perfect direction for FFA.
